Ang naaksayang oras
Ay hindi na muling babalik.
Wasted (Lost) time will never come back.
Walang nakarating sa taas
Na di nagmula sa labak.
Nobody reaches the top without beginning from the bottom.
Kung saan ang hilig nang punong kahoy
Doon ang buwal.
As the tree inclines so will it fall.
Ang kahoy na liko’t baluktot,
Hutukin hanggang malambot,
Pag lumaki na’t tumayog,
Mahirap na ang paghutok.
A tree that is crooked and bent should be straightened while tender, for when it becomes big and tall it will be hard to form.
Huwag magkatiwala
Sa matamis magwika.
Do not trust one who speaks too sweetly.
Ang katwiran ma’y nabaon
Ng sanda-sandaang taon,
Pag dumating ang panahon
Lilitaw din at uusbong.
Truth, though it be buried hundreds of years, in due time will come out and flourish.
Ang hindi pinaghirapan,
Di pinanghihinayangan.
One doesn’t greatly value a thing he acquired without effort.
