Bulaklak muna ang gawin
Bago mo ito kainin

(First make a flower,
then eat it)

Pagsipot sa maliwanag,
Kulubot na ang balat.

(When it was born,
its skin was already wrinkled)

Isang senyorita,
Nakaupo sa tasa

(A young lady [princess/queen],
sitting on a cup)

Baboy ko sa parang
Namumula sa tapang

(My pig of the mountain grown,
red with fierceness)

Langit sa itaas,
Langit sa ibaba,
Tubig sa gitna.

(Sky above,
sky below,
water in the middle)

May balbas, walang mukha

Hindi tao, hindi hayop
May buhok na kulay ginto

Hindi tao, hindi hayop
ngunit kulot ang buhok

(It has a beard [but] it has no face)

(Neither man nor animal
but has golden hair)

(Neither man nor animal
but has curly hair)

Ate mo, ate ko
Ate ng lahat ng tao

(My ATE, your ATE;
everybody's ATE)
