Mabango kung amuyin,
masarap kung kanin

Bahay ni Sta. Ines
Punong-puno ng perdigones.

Puno ay buku-buko, dahon ay abaniko,
Ang bunga ay parasko, perdigones ang buto.

Full of bullets [pellets])

(Its trunk has many nodes [joints], its leaves are fans,
its fruit is a bottle, its seeds are shotgun pellets)

Bahay ni Sta. Maria
Naiinog ng sandata.

Isang prinsesa
Punung-puno ng mata

Surrounded by swords)

(A beautiful princess
full of eyes)

Naupo si Itim, sinulot ni Pula,
Eto na si Puti na bubuga-buga.

(Black sat down; Red prodded from beneath;
Out came white)

Nang ihulog ko'y ganggabinlid
Nang hanguin ko'y ganggaihip
