Mga Natatanging Tala sa Kasaysayan

  • Itinanghal na "Cabeza de Barangay" sa gulang na 17
  • Sa edad na 26 ay nahalal bilang "Capitan Municipal" na ang katumbas ng posisyon ay Gobernadorcillo.
  • Sumapi sa samahang Masonry (na kinabibilangan rin ni José Rizal, Apolinario Mabini, Juan Luna, Marcelo del Pilar at Graciano Lopez Jaena) sa layuning mapabuti ang kalagayan ng bayan.
  • Siya ang kusang nagsadya kay Andres Bonifacio upang sumanib sa Katipunan.
  • Pinuno ng pangkat Magdalo ng Katipunan sa Cavite.
  • Pinangunahan ang kanyang mga kawal sa pagkakapanalo sa mga labanan ng Kawit, Imus at Binakayan sa Cavite.
  • Pangulo ng Pamahalaang Rebolusyonaryo, Kapulungang Tejeros.
  • Sumang-ayon sa kasunduan sa "Pact of Biak-na-Bato" na nilagdaan niya noong Disyembre 14, 1897 dahil sa paniwalang hindi na mapagtatagumpayan ang digmaan.
  • Pumayag sa kusang-loob na pagkakatapon sa Hongkong kapalit ng bayad-pinsala (sinasabing 400,000 pesos) na ginamit naman niya sa pagbili ng mga armas na inilaan sa pagbabalik sa bansa.
  • Sa pagsiklab ng digmaan Estados Unidos at Espanya noong Abril 1898 ay nakipagkasundo kina Commodore George Dewey at U.S. Consul Pratt na pagsanibin ang Hukbong Amerikano at Pilipino laban sa mga Kastila.
  • Nagbalik sa bansa noong Mayo 19, 1898 at iprinoklama ang kasarinlan nito noong Hunyo 12, 1898.
  • Nagdesenyo ng Bandila ng Pilipinas noong 1897 habang nasa Hongkong, ang nasabing bandila ay iwinagayway sa veranda ng kanyang tahanan sa Kawit, Cavite noong Hunyo 12, 1898.
  • Pinanguluhan ang Pamahalaang Rebolusyunaryo makaraang buuin ang Kongreso sa Malolos at ratipikahin ang kasarinlan at konstitusyon nito noong Enero 21, 1899.
  • Naglaho ang pangarap ni Emilio Aguinaldo na makapagsarili at mapalaya ang bansa sa kamay ng mga Amerikano nang madakip ni Heneral Frederick Funston at ng mga tauhan nito sa Palanan, Isabela noong Marso 23, 1901.
  • Napilitang manumpa ng Katapatan sa pamahalaang Amerikano noong Abril, 1901.
  • Nagretiro sa pagiging pangkaraniwang mamamayan makaraang maitatag ang pamahalaang kolonyal ng Amerika.
  • Tumakbo bilang pangulo sa isang halalang pampanguluhan noong 1935 ngunit natalo siya ni Manuel L. Quezon.
  • Nagtatag ng Asociacion de la Revolucion, isang samahan ng mga lumaban sa mga Kastila upang magkamit ng benepisyo.

  • Apolinarion Mabini, Juan Luna, Marcelo del Pilar and Graciano Lopez Jaena) which aimed at improving the economic condition of the country.
  • He personally went to Andres Bonifacio to join the Katipunan.
  • Head of the Magdalo Group of the Katipunan in Cavite.
  • Led his men to victory in the battle of Kawit, Imus and Binakayan in Cavite.
  • President of the Revolutionary Government, Tejeros Convention.
  • Signed the agreement of the "Pact of Biak-na-Bato" on December 14, 1897 in the belief that the war "could not be won".
  • Willingly agreed to be exiled in Hongkong in exchange for the damage-claim (said to be 400,000 pesos) which he used to purchase arms for his return to the country.
  • When the war between the United States and Spain broke out on April 1898, he made an agreement with Commodore George Dewey and U.S. Consul Pratt to consolidate the American and Filipino forces against the Spaniards.
  • Returned to the country on May 19, 1898 and proclaimed independence on June 12, 1898.
  • Designed the Flag of the Philippines in 1897 during his exile in Hong Kong, which was hoisted at the veranda of his house in Kawit, Cavite on June 12, 1898.
  • Headed the Revolutionary Government after the establishment of the Malolos Congress and the ratification of the independence and its constitution on January 21, 1899.
  • His dream of independence and freeing the country from the Americans vanished when he was arrested by Gen. Frederick Funston and his men in Palanan, Isabela on March 23, 1901.
  • Was forced to take an oath of allegiance to the American Government in April of 1901.
  • Retired to become an ordinary citizen after the founding of the colonial government of America.
  • Ran for president in the 1935 presidential election but lost to Manuel L. Quezon.
  • Founded the Association of the Revolutionary, an organization of people who fought against Spain, in order to claim due benefits.
