Mayroon akong alipin
Sunod ng sunod sa akin.

Ako’y may isang katotong irog
Saan man paroo’y kasunod-sunod
Mapatubig ay di nalulunod,
Mapaapoy ay di nasusunog.

Ako'y may kaibigan
Kasama ko sa kung saan-saan

(I have a slave;
It always follows me)

(I have a dear friend
Who follows me wherever I go;
Though I go through water,
He does not drown,
Though I go through fire, he is not burned)

(I have a friend,
he is my companion everywhere)

Baka ko sa Maynila
Abot dito ang unga.

(My cow in Manila,
its mooing can be heard here)

Baston ni Adan
Hindi mabilang-bilang.

Baston ni San Jose,
bilang pero hindi mabilang

(Canes of Adam,
cannot be counted)

(The walking cane of St. Joseph,
is counted but cannot be counted)

Ang nangauna'y nagsisisi
kumakarimot ang nahuhuli.

(Those who went ahead are repenting,
those who are late are hurrying.)
