  • Siya ay kasapi ng Liberal Party, na siyang bandera ng oposisyon. Siya ay tumakbong sa Kongreso noong 1998 at nagsilbi bilang Kinatawan ng 2nd District ng Tarlac hanggang 2007.
  • Noong Nobyembre 8, 2004, siya ay naging kinatawang tagapagsalita (Deputy House Speaker) ng Kapulungan ng mga Kinatawan ng Pilipinas ngunit nagbitiw noong February 21, 2006, upang sumali sa Liberal Party at hingin ang pagbibitiw ni Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo bilang Presidente ng Pilipinas sa kasagsagan ng "Hello Garci" scandal.
  • Si Aquino ay tumakbong senador noong Mayo 2007 at nanalo.
  • Noong 2007, naihalal siya bilang senador sa ilalim ng Genuine Opposition (GO), isang koalisyon na binubuo ng mga partido tulad ng Liberal Party. Nagkamal siya ng 14.3 milyong boto, at pang-anim na pinakamataas sa 37 na kandidato para sa 12 na puwesto sa senado.

Important Notes in History

  • He is member of the Liberal Party, the banner of the opposition. He ran for Congress in 1998 at served as the Representative of the 2nd District of Tarlac until 2007.
  • He became Deputy Speaker of the Philippine House of Representatives on November 8, 2004, but relinquished the post on February 21, 2006, when Aquino joined the Liberal Party in calling for the resignation of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at the height of the "Hello Garci" scandal.
  • Aquino ran for Senate in May 2007 and won.
  • Aquino was elected to the Senate of the Philippines in 2007, under the banner of the Genuine Opposition (GO), a coalition comprising a number of parties. He garnered 14.3 million votes, and placed 6th among the 37 candidates for the 12 position for senators.
  • He won the presidency and garnered 15,208,678 votes.
  • He never experienced defeat in politics.
  • He is the first bachelor (and childless) President of the Philippines.
