Mga Natatanging Tala sa Kasaysayan
- Upang matustusan ang pag-aaral ay nagtrabaho bilang tsuper ng dyipni at mekaniko sa kumpanya ng mga sasakyan na pag-aari ng mga Yangco, naging superbisor at kalaunan ay naging manager ng sangay nito sa Zambales.
- Nagboluntaryong maglingkod sa Hukbong Sandatahan ng Pilipinas.
- Umanib kay Tenyente Koronel Thorpe noong 1942, bago pa man sumuko ang Bataan.
- Hinirang na Military Governor ni Heneral Douglas McArthur sa Zambales.
- Itinatag ang Puwersang Gerilya ng Kanlurang Luzon makaraang bumagsak ang Bataan at Corrigidor sa kamay ng mga Hapon.
- Dalawang beses nahalal na Kongresista sa lalawigan ng Zambales.
- Naging malaki ang bahagi sa pagkakapasa ng panukulang batas sa pagbibigay benepisyo ng Estados Unidos sa mga Pilipinong beterano sa digmaan at isa rito ang pagpapatayo ng Veterans Memorial Hospital.
- Kalihim ng Kagawaran ng Pambansang Depensa noong 1950.
- Matagumpay niyang nahikayat ang mga miyembro ng HUKBALAHAP na sumuko at magbalik sa pamahalaan.
- Tumanggap ng “Man of the Year Award” noong 1951.
- Pangulo ng Republika ng Pilipinas, (Nobyembre, 1953)
- Binuo ang President’s Action Committee (PCAC) bilang kanyang linyang tagapagpatupad ng pagtulong sa masa.
- Binuksan ang mga pintuan ng Malacañang sa mga karaniwang tao upang ipahayag ang kanilang mga hinaing at suliranin.
- Sa ilalim ng kanyang pamumuno binigyan ng pagkakataong mag-ari ng sariling lupa ang mga magbubukid ayon sa batas ng Land Reform Act of 1955.
- Personal na sumuko sa kanya ang Supremo ng mga Huk na si Luis Taruc na naghudyat ng ganap na katahimikan ng bansa.
- Tinawag na “Kampeon ng Masa”.
- Higit niyang pinalawig ang paggamit ng Wikang Pambansa at ang pagsusuot ng Barong Tagalog.
- Ayon kay Magsaysay ay nararapat na magkaroon ng higit na pagtangkilik ng batas ang mga dukha na salat sa buhay.

Important Notes in History
- Worked as jeepney driver and mechanic to finance his studies at the car company of the Yangcos; was promoted to supervisory position and later on, branch manager in Zambales.
- Volunteered to serve in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
- Joined the forces of Lieutenant Colonel Thorpe in 1942, before the Fall of Bataan.
- Was appointed Military Governor by Gen. Douglas McArthur in Zambales.
- Founded the Guerilla Forces of Western Luzon after the Fall of Bataan and Corregidor.
- Twice elected as congressman of Zambales.
- Played an important role in the passing of the bill on benefit grants by the United States to the Filipino veterans of the war and one of these was the building of the Veterans Memorial Hospital.
- Secretary of National Defense (1950)
- Successfully persuaded the members of the HUKBALAHAP to surrender and return to the government fold.
- Received the “Man of the Year Award” in 1951.
- President of the Republic of the Philippines (November, 1953).
- Formed the President’s Action Committee (PCAC) as his implementing line to help the masses.
- Opened the doors of Malacañang to the people so they could air their grievances.
- He gave the farmers the right to own land according to the laws of the Land Reform Act of 1955.
- Huk Supreme Leader Luis Taruc personally surrender to him that signaled the reign of peace in the country.
- Was called the “Champion of the Masses”.
- Promoted vigorously the use of the national language and wearing of the Barong Tagalog.
- According to him, those who have less in life should have more in law.
