  • Matapos makapangalap ng isang milyong signatura ang mga kakampi ay saka lang siya napapayag na labanan si Marcos sa Snap Election noong Pebrero 7, 1986.
  • Iniluklok bilang Pangulo ng Republika ng Pilipinas noong Pebrero 25, 1986 dahil sa makasaysayang People’s Power na nagpatalsik kay Dating Pangulong Marcos sa posisyon.
  • Siya ang Unang Babaing Pangulo ng Republika ng Pilipinas.
  • Pinanumpa ni Hukom Claudio Teehankee ng Korte Suprema si Corazon Aquino bilang pangulo ng Pilipinas sa Club Pilipino.
  • Nagpatupad ng palatuntunan ng rekonsilasyon at pinalaya ang mga bilanggong pulitikal tulad nina Bernabe Buscayno ng New People’s Army at Jose Maria Sison ng Communist Party of the Philippines.

  • Ginawaran ng "Gawad Eleanor Roosevelt" para sa "Karapatang Pantao".
  • Napingasan ang pagtingin ng taumbayan kay Cory dahil sa mga taong nakapaligid sa kanya na uhaw sa paghihiganti kay Marcos.
  • Nagkaroon ng anim na malalaking coup d’ etat na nais magpatalsik sa kanyang pamahalaan na ang pinakamadugo ay naganap noong 1987 at 1989.
  • Nakaranas ng malaking problema at kalamidad sa panahon niya tulad ng lindol noong Hulyo 16, 1990; bagyong si Rufing at pagtaas ng presyo ng langis bunga ng giyera sa Gitnang Silangan at pagsabog ng Bulkang Pinatubo noong 1991.

  • Agreed to run for president against Marcos in the February 7, 1986 Snap Election after her supporters gathered a million signatures.
  • Installed as the President of the Republic of the Philippines on February 25, 1986 because of the historic People’s Power which stripped Marcos of power.
  • She is the First Woman President of the Republic of the Philippines.
  • Corazon Aquino took her oath under Supreme Court Justice Claudio Teehankee as President of the Philippines at Club Filipino.
  • Implemented a program of reconciliation and freed political prisoners like Bernabe Buscayno of the New People’s Army and Jose Maria Sison of the Communist Party of the Philippines.
  • Retained the presidential form of government.
  • Under her reign, a national plebiscite was held to ratify the amendments to the 1935 Constitution on February 2, 1987.
  • Named Woman of the Year by Time Magazine.
  • Was given the Eleanor Roosevelt Award for Human Rights.
  • Her popularity waned because of the people around her who wanted to exact vengeance on Marcos.
  • Six coup d’etat aimed at overthrowing her government took place during her reign, the two bloodiest of which took place in 1987 and 1989.
  • The country went through great problems and calamities during her reign like the earthquake of July 16, 1990; Typhoon Rufing and increase in the price of oil due to the Middle East War and the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991.
